B.A.

Joan H. Bushnell, B.A., works as an elementary/secondary teacher and has a special education teaching endorsement. In 1996 Dan and Joan Bushnell started team teaching elementary Washington State history.  Dan then became an adjunct professor at Seattle Pacific University after creating four Exploring Washington’s History courses for teachers.  Dan and Joan have enjoyed traveling to all the sites you’ll be visiting and work as a team raising their children, traveling the state, and writing this course, our first for The Heritage Institute.  We are now planning trips with our grandchildren

Dan Bushnell, M.A. Even after retiring in 2012 my bride and I have continued working in the field of education. We offer four Washington State History Travel Courses through SPU (22 years). This will be my 38 th year of public education: 21 years as a school administrator, as well as 25 years as a high school and elementary home school Washington State History teacher. We also offer a North Oregon Coast history through Heritage University.  My bride, Joan is my team.  She and I work side by side developing, visiting, and adjusting our courses.  It is our hope you are able to spend time with your family while completing this course.
